Description
Laphroaig is a distillery whose malts are massively individual and utterly distinctive.
The distillery was founded in 1810 by brothers Donald and Alexander Johnston on what was originally a family run farm in a small bay on the southernmost tip of Islay.
Laphroaig’s unique flavour comes in part from its vicinity to the coast and the high moss content of its peat, which is processed in the distillery’s own floor maltings.
Brimming with classic Islay identity, Laphroaig Limited Edition 27 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes via a maturation process that placed a portion of the whisky in refill quarter casks and the rest first-fill bourbon barrels.
The resulting single malt Scotch whisky benefits from this method, possessing depth, character and flavour that permeates through the cask-strength bottling.
This retains that classic Laphroaig peaty character while adding amazing depth of flavour.
