Mizunara is a species of oak tree native to Japan and during World War II, the Japanese whisky industry was forced to fashion Mizunara wood into casks to age their spirits.
Mizunara trees take 200 years to mature and rarely grow straight, which presented a challenge, however, their unique imprint makes Mizunara Cask Whisky a much sought-after Single Malt Japanese Whisky.
Kurayoshi The Matsui Mizunara Cask Whisky is 48% ABV and is one of the world’s awarded whiskies, using sweet mineral water from the volcanic mountain of Mt.
Daisen, with mild spicy, grapefruit and oak characteristics, made from carefully selected malted barley and matured in Mizunara oak casks.
