Highland Park’s Cask Strength single malt undergoes a meticulous production process.
This particular release showcases a remarkable complexity, achieved by incorporating a higher proportion of Orkney peated malt.
The maturation takes place in a combination of three distinct types of casks – first-fill European and American oak sherry casks, alongside a smaller number of refill casks.
Upon nosing, one is greeted by a captivating array of smoky aromas, where smouldering peat, charred oak, honey-glazed lemons, and crushed aniseed intertwine.
These captivating scents are further enhanced by the presence of ripe mango, cloudy heather honey, vanilla ice cream, dried violets, pink grapefruit zest, freshly-baked sponge cake, and heathery peat smoke throughout the palate, culminating in a lingering finish.
