Description
Production began at Arrans first distillery in beautiful Lochranza almost 30 years ago.
Many other locations were considered at the time, but the proximity to Loch na Davie provided them with a rather special source of fresh water for distilling.
They knew this would hold them in good stead in the years to come.
Their second distillery opened in the south of the island in 2019 at Lagg, where they produce a very unique style of peated single malt.
Arran Whisky are delighted to present their 25 Year Old which will be part of their core range annually from now on.
There are 3,000 bottles available worldwide annually and as such this is a limited bottling.
This is their oldest core range age statement available.
The whisky has been matured in ex-Sherry and Bourbon Casks and is bottled at 46% Vol without chill filtration or the addition of any colouring.
As one of the first of the new wave of distilleries to reach maturity, the team are delighted to share their oldest age statement every year.
This whisky has aromas of rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note.
Sweeter aromas of baked ripe figs, sultanas and black cherries.
The palate boasts flavours of fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon.
The juicy zestiness of oranges and mandarins mellows perfectly with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and an interesting white pepper note that provides even more complexity.
Creamy and spicy finish with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruits compote.
